Meet Our Team

My name is Cynthia S. Dahle, VMD and I am the owner of Bay Area Veterinary Hospital.  I felt that in order for me to get to know you and your pet, you should know a little about me and my qualifications first.

I received my Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine (V.M.D.) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 1993 after a 13 year career as a nurse having graduated from Towson State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1979.  My certification in Veterinary Acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society was acquired in 1993.

I grew up in Severna Park and now reside with my husband, Mike Dahle, and rescued Airdale Terrier, McGuire in Chester on Kent Island. Upon graduation, I first practiced veterinary medicine as an Associate Veterinarian at Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital and left in 1996 to open Bay Area Veterinary Hospital.

Mike and I love to bike, boat, enjoy steamed crabs and especially watch football- GO RAVENS!.

My staff and I look forward to getting to know you and your pet as well!

Her professional interests include small animal internal medicine and surgery, with an emphasis in geriatric patients, preventative care, dental care, and pain management.

Dr. Ewing is a member of several honor societies and organizations, including Phi Zeta (National Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine), Gamma Sigma Delta (National Honor Society of Agriculture), Phi Kappa Phi, Tri Beta, Phi Eta Sigma, Maryland Farm Bureau, Talbot County Farm Bureau, and the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association.  When Dr. Ewing is not at work, caring for her furry menagerie, or chasing her toddler, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and many outdoor activities including hiking, bicycling, and horse-back riding.

Prior to joining our team at Bay Area Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Ewing has worked at routine and emergency care facilities in Salisbury, MD, Vero Beach, FL, Richmond, VA, and Powhatan, VA.

Dr. Hendler graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Before that, she earned her  bachelor's degree in biology from Bryn Mawr College.

Even though she went to school in Pennsylvania, Dr. Hendler grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland. She has a special interest in feline medicine. Dr. Hendler shares her home with 3 cats and Abby, a terrier-mix.
